Outdoor shoots and hard consonants (“p”, “b”) can cause pops and rumble.
- Snap the foam windscreen over the mic head outdoors.
- Position the mic about 15 cm (6 in) below the mouth, pointing up.
- Speak across the mic rather than directly into it for softer plosives.
